KEEP TEXAS PHYSICIANS IN TEXAS

We ask for the Texas Legislature to pass legislation to provide independent third party oversight of the Texas Medical Board (TMB).  It has been reported that the lack of TMB oversight has lead to wrongful prosecutions, unjust investigations that violate federal constitutional rights, and unethical actions.  The hostile environment is jeopardizing access to medical care in Texas when physicians leave the state rather than to become victims to what some have deemed a rogue agency.

According to the 2017 State Physician Workforce data, 40% of Texas trained physicians are leaving Texas to practice medicine in other states and Texas is retiring experienced physicians
at a faster rate than any other state.

Without Legislative intervention, Texas will continue to face physician shortages.
